Fri 14 October - Near enough...

It's Friday and there's N on the train. We have a good chat on the way in so I almost don't notice that we're a minute or two late!

Home on the 17:38 and it's pretty much on time. A pretty good week again.

Thu 13 October - Not in today...

Another uni assignment to be finished today, so no Connex adventures.

Wed 12 October - Fine again...

Another fine day and the 07:14 is on time.

Get away at a reasonable time today and the 17:38 is on time. The 17:27 was a few minutes late so we're not too tightly packed this evening.

Tue 11 October - Early...

Looks like we're about a minute early this morning.

And pretty much bang on time for the 18:24 heading home. I'm not very often this late and it's surprising how full the train is.

Mon 10 October - Fine...

A fine spring day today and the 07:14 is only about a minute late. They forget to open the doors for 30 seconds though - we all futilely stab at the buttons until the driver activates them!

SMS received at 16:08... "Phil, the 3:55 PM Sandringham train from the city undefined. Connex apologises for any inconvenience." I should think they would apologise!

Going for the 18:12. As I go up the ramp the screen goes black - not a good sign for the 18:12 that was displayed seconds earlier. The announcement tells us that the next train is the 18:11 to Frankston, so we can safely conclude the 18:12 is not going from platform 8, at least not at the scheduled time. The monitor says the next one after the Frankston train is the 18:24 - maybe they cancelled the 18:12.

We all gaze hopefully at the monitors on platform 9 - but they resolutely stay black. Suddenly a train appears and the announcer tells us that it is indeed the 18:12 Sandringham train. In case we have any doubts, the monitors now confirm this. And off we go a couple of minutes late. It's always exciting travelling with Connex.
