Oh well...

And that can only mean more of the same for Melbourne's long-suffering commuters. Luckily it appears that a couple of totalitarian government operators are interested in taking up the challenge. Who knows, if Singapore's SMRT wins the bid over Connex we might be able to convince them to broaden their portfolio - then we'd see some efficiencies around Victoria!
After the failed "Don't hold others back" campaign, I see the latest push from Connex is a broader campaign to educate us to be better commuters. Don't fart, don't spread your legs, don't wear a backpack, don't put on make-up, don't talk on your mobile, don't listen to an iPod etc. Maybe Singapore's SMRT already has control?

If you ask me, I think whoever's funding these patronising and useless ads should reveal themselves and be berated. Telling passengers to not hold each other back and promoting a fascist and conformist 'etiquette' on PT is obscene and incongruous.
Oh, and the GAMUT conference mentioned on the PTUA site was a success. I didn't, however, get a chance to question the IPA on its pro-privatisation and global warming skepticism. Oh well....
At least it's not our taxes at work, just our train fares.
How many drivers could have been trained for the cost of these ads?
Oh, well...
I would love to know who funded the patronising ads. They deserve to be berated for their prodigal and pointless expenditures.
Honestly? If SMRT *were* indeed to win the bid it would be a 110% improvement. I'd take efficiency and punctuality, rules or not, over the crap Connex is dishing at the moment, thank you very much.
Someone suggested on my blog (on the post where I talked about him) that he isn't a real person. Curious.....

what's wrong with half of this "Don't fart, don't spread your legs, don't wear a backpack, don't put on make-up, don't talk on your mobile, don't listen to an iPod etc.". A lot of fellow passengers are so thick skinned that any improvement would be good. Maybe a "totalitarian" operator would infuse some manners.
Yo have you seen www.pt4me2.org.au?
You are welcome to spread the whinge.
Nice site on the pt4me thing. I'll add it to my blog.
