In town for a while...

Seems a few Perth people are optimistic of one or both of their teams playing in Melbourne on the last Saturday of September. Consequently Qantas are gouging these misguided footy fans $1,800 for a one-way across the Nullarbor! And of course that means anybody else who's travelling at that time is up for similar fares. When's the ACCC going to have a close look at this duopoly?

Anyway, this situation rules out travel to Perth either side of the Grand Final weekend so I'll be spending the longest stint in months at home. And that means the longest run of Connex travel in months too - how will I cope? Well since you asked... they have cancelled my 07:14 train twice this week!

I vaguely wondered out loud recently whether Connex had improved to the extent that I didn't feel the need to air my whinges any more. A few weeks of regular use will answer that question I suppose. So far I'd be thinking we'll pick things up again in a month or two...

And Freo, you have no chance Friday night - Swans for back-to-back premierships!
