Fri 9 December - Hung over...
Still manage to make the 07:14, despite being hung over. It was a big night with the Connex Whinger appearing as the man in the red and white suit. And no problem getting a taxi either!
I am a Train Driver for Connex, its obvious to me you have too much time on your hands...if only you knew the real reason why your your trains were either cancelled or late...blame the state government you fruit cake...and get a life while you are at it!!
Yes, too much time waiting for trains to arrive - which is why I have plenty of time to write my blog entry on my PDA.
I have a fair idea why trains are late and cancelled, and if you think I'm blaming the drivers then you've missed the whole point of this blog. I blame the state government, especially Batchelor, and I blame your boss, Bruce Hughes.
Far from being a fruitcake, I'm reasonably balanced and just choose to channel my frustrations this way. If being annoyed at an unreliable public transport system makes me a fruitcake, then at least I'm not alone! And my life is very satisfying, thanks - "get a life" is so overworked - feel free to disagree with me, but personal insults demean you, not me.
An extract from my first post best sums up what this is all about.
"Perception is reality" was one of the many glib phrases my ex-boss used to regularly use. Well my reality is that I have never had a full week of the train that I want to catch running on time. Let me rephrase that somewhat inelegant sentence - I don't believe that of the ten scheduled trains that I would wish to catch in any given week, all ten have ever run as scheduled. Ever. In over four years of commuting on the Sandringham line, my perception is that at least one train per week is either delayed or cancelled.
That's probably a pretty bold call, so to turn my perception into reality, I plan to keep a diary for a while and we'll see how often Connex can deliver me a full week of reliable services. Yes, I know that's a little self-centred, but isn't that the whole point of blogging?
