Fri 2 June - Missed again...

Having just got back from Perth I'm taking my daughter to school. So I just get to the station in time for the 08:58 and there's no parking. Needless to say, it runs bang on time and I just miss it! The 09:11 comes in a minute or so late and arrives at Flinders Street about five minutes late - and we're on platform 12… great!

Home on the 17:49 and it's on time.

I jumped trains at Richmond to get a Flinders St direct, catching whatever it was that pulled into Platform 7 about 9.20am. Weirdly, it was only a half-train -- 3 carriages. And right when the nice lady announced we were "now arriving at Flinders St", we stopped. Probably about 50m from the frickin' platform. And there we waited for about eight minutes. No explanation, of course, and no apology. They should have just opened the doors. We could have walked it.

Saturday: Just made my train today after it pulled in at Hughesdale a full two minutes early. I had to run like a madman and the driver closed the doors as I was validating my ticket. Decent bloke he was, he opened them again for me.

I know the time on my phone is correct: it does auto update of the time, and matched the platform time displays at Flinders St when I arrived.

A train running early is worse than one running late, particularly when it means you'd have another 20 minutes to wait for the next one.

Agree, early is worse than late.

I used the train today as I needed to go into work to do some stuff with our servers. The inbound was about two minutes late and the outbound about five.
