One man's perspective of the daily grind on board the Connex Melbourne metropolitan train system.

Wed 26 April - First SMS in weeks...
I can't see that I've had an SMS alert from Connex since before the Games... so it figures that I'd get one this morning for the cancellation of the 07:14... gee it's good to be back!
Luckily there's just enough warning to catch the 06:59.
Home on the 17:49 - three minutes late at Ripponlea.
Got a sms this morning as well telling my that the train I missed is not running the city loop while being told at the same time, waiting in Richmond, that my train won't run the city loop either.
What was the point of the sms if they did not sent one for the train I was sitting on, altough the service was inside my specified time window. Besides, if I had been on that train I got the sms for, I would have known already!
It seems that most of the City Loop trains are not running today due to a signal fault. And we already know: “Connex apologises for the inconvenience caused!” At least they can deliver that message with Swiss precision.
At Richmond there are other lines that usually do pass the Loop on other platforms...
Unless it was all lines effected, im sure you'd prefer to have an incedent in the Loop. Hey no problem, we'll just run trains and hope they don't crash, my bleak sarcasm proves a point.
Not also there are Route 70 trams adjacent from Richmond that brings you direct into the city, and more obviously OTHER trams/bus services.
steve, perhaps spending time here at Connex WHinger, you can use your time more constructively and go to metlinkmelbourne.com.au and check if your services have any major alteration... It's just a quick look, won't take you time to type much or anything.
Chris/The Met, you really do live in a different world don't you? Can you not see how facile your continued Connex defence is? You're telling Steve he should check the Metlink website... he was probably already on the @#$%^&! train when the signal faults began!
And as for leaving the train station and going off to catch a tram or bus, that presupposes that Connex/Metrol have given commuters any details about what the issue is, the impact, how long before it's rectified etc. Unheard of in my book.
Do us all a favour and quit with this nonsensical garbage on how to cope with the daily work commute, something you have no experience of.
Damn, I broke my vow of never responding to your banal advice!
Daily commute, i have a fair enough idea idea of what DOES go on.
I purely advised constructively, no matter how you take it is YOUR OWN DAMN CHOICE.
Who diddly cares, hes not on the late train any damn more! Why give a damn now! Waste more of your own time, making stupid online messeges.
If there were signal faults ill say again, THERE WERE SIGNAL FAULTS cant you get that through your DAMN brain! Or for all anyone care is getting to work on time... You'd obviously prefer, the COnnex WHinger Way, UNREALISTICALLY MAKE EVERY TRAIN MAGICALLY ON TIME!
WELL SORRY, IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SOON, and YOUR AMOUNT OF BLATANT COMPLAINING CAN ONLY GET YOU SO FAR!
Well, Mr WHinger, it's also apparent he spent time on your website, after th incedent too, that time also used elsewhere...
I am in the process of being sick and tired of your gas-bagging. YOU SODS! All you do if your train is late: COMPLAIN AND WHINGE! You just stand there and COMPLAIN! How about you use your OWN initiative, find a tram/bus walk taxi FLY!
Ive been trying to avoid some of my more respondant answers, to more constructive ones.
Oh and: AND DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, THE D***HEAD WHO WOULD LIKE TO MOCK ME should be taken no notice, as only as an attention seeker, full of sh**.

----------------- DEAR FELLOW READERS;
This false imitation of "The Met" should not be taken into account.
In a serious lack of judgement and of moral sense, this user finds him/herself appropriate to create a false image of the truth.
Shameful as it is, i encourage people to ignore this HIGHLY IMMATURE BEHAVIOUR, and please note that the one who writes this is the 'real' Chris Tagle.
"Chris/The Met, you really do live in a different world don't you? Can you not see how facile your continued Connex defence is? "
Do you see you just talk gibberish and prove unrealistic points, and expect a rail system what CANNOT BE ACHIEVED! It could but it's unlikely to a long line of events, so ive gone through.
"You're telling Steve he should check the Metlink website... he was probably already on the @#$%^&! train when the signal faults began!" He was on this damn AFTER site, he could of dropped off at metlinkmelbourne.com.au to see if anything else had happened, in the next day or week or so.
"And as for leaving the train station and going off to catch a tram or bus, that presupposes that Connex/Metrol have given commuters any details about what the issue is, the impact, how long before it's rectified etc. Unheard of in my book."
HEY from everyones complaining, they should probably know if a train is coming or not. You should use your own initiative. If you have a broken TV you send it to the shops to get it repaired, you can't possibly expect an exact time of when it's done.
YOUR WAY:
Train is late; sit on arse for next 30 minutes hoping train will arrive. It doesn't; gas-bag online.
Also; forgetting there MAY of been alternatives.
"Do us all a favour and quit with this nonsensical garbage on how to cope with the daily work commute, something you have no experience of."
I've endured my own set of hardships thankyou very much.
Here's a person who think he knows everything... Mr Whinger, I know my limits. Half of everything here is so damned obvious, your all stuck-up with your 'passenger is right' views...
Good day http://whingingconnex.blogspot.com When will common sense prevail.
An extract from my first post best sums up what this is all about.
"Perception is reality" was one of the many glib phrases my ex-boss used to regularly use. Well my reality is that I have never had a full week of the train that I want to catch running on time. Let me rephrase that somewhat inelegant sentence - I don't believe that of the ten scheduled trains that I would wish to catch in any given week, all ten have ever run as scheduled. Ever. In over four years of commuting on the Sandringham line, my perception is that at least one train per week is either delayed or cancelled.
That's probably a pretty bold call, so to turn my perception into reality, I plan to keep a diary for a while and we'll see how often Connex can deliver me a full week of reliable services. Yes, I know that's a little self-centred, but isn't that the whole point of blogging?

Well, there we go....
I wonder where that sudden insight came from?

When will common sense prevail.
It may interest, that the above statement is false, and highly incorrect
More details about this stupidity can be found at:

Met are you sure your not confused?
no, although you might.
See, there is another person finding it amusing to create a false 'image' of me...
Want me to use it in a sentence:
Aren't you doing a GREAT job, moron!
And that took you how long studying the dictionary to figure that out?
Well, for YOUR information I didn't need a dictionary because I'm not a stupid as 'you lot' usually assume.
We don't assume, you prove it daily!
Well your obviously incorrect.
You fail, life.
